For the moment we are working in podomatic project; when we arrived to the part of record, we had some problems but our teacher help us ^^

PODCASTS

Last day we couldn't start this new project: "Podcasts are very useful to learn foreign languages. It is very useful to listen to short episodes, dialogues etc in English!" This is the introduccion of our teacher.
For the moment we created our account in podomatic, and we are following the instructions.

Last day we couldn't contiue with our work because our teacher wasn't here. Today we have finished it; the slideshow is done and here it is, behind these lines you can see the summer in pictures.

Image Formats:

a) Find out the most common formats for images and write a short description of the features of each of them.

JPEG (joint Photographic Experts Group): is a compression method. JPEG compression is (in most cases) lossy compression. The compression does not noticeably detract from the images quality, but JPEG files suffer generational degradation when repeatedly edited and saved.

RAW refers to a family of raw image formats that are options avaible on some digital cameras. These formates usually use a lossless compression, and produce file sizes much smaller than a JPEG.

PNG (Portable Network Graphics) The PNG format supports truecolor (16 million colors). The PNG excels when the image has large, unimormly colored areas. The lossless PNG format i best suited for editing pictures, but for the final distribuition of images is better a lossy format because PNG files are bigger. PNG is designed to work well in online viewing applications.

GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) is limited to 256 colors. This makes the GIF format suitable for storing graphics with relatively few colors such as simple diagrams, shapes, logos and cartoon style images. The GIF format is used to provide image animation effects. It also uses a lossless compression.

BMP (Windows bitmap) handles graphics files within the Microsoft Windows OS. BMP files are uncompressed, hence they are large; the advantage is their simplicity and wide acceptance in Windows programs.


b) Wich image format preserves the quality better when it is compressed?

The PNG format preserves a better quality.

c) Wich formats are more suitable for web design?

The lossy formats are more suitable for web design because the other formats are bigger.

VOICETHTREAD

Voicethread is an application that allows you to record or type comments to documents or vidios.
We had commented with Voicethread a powerpoint that we made in computing class about racism.
This programme is very useful to make presentations.

THE AUDACITY PROJECT END

Finally, after some failed attempts, we FINISHED the audacity project! ^^
We are so happy and proud of our work, we had learn how to use audacity to record our voice and also upload the record to the blog...what do you think? Do you like our radio programe?

AUDACITY & GOEAR

3rd practice:
This practice teaches us how to record ourself or others, and how to edit sound files using Audacity.
First we had to record us explaining something, we decided to make a music radio progamme where we add different songs. We edited the sounds making them shorter and minimizing the volume in some parts.
When we finished this part, we exported the recording to mp3 format.
Finally, when the record was an mp3 file, we used goear, (that allows you to upload mp3 files); it gave us an url and the file in html what we use to post it to our blog.

Both aplications are very useful and easy to use:)

SRIBD

2nd. practice:
Today we have uploaded a word document to scribd, and then we have shared it coping the URL to our blog.
It's very easy and fast to do.

PRESENTATION

Hi, we are Laura and Sara, we are secundary High School students.
We are doing an optative credit, called : Computers made easy 2 (it's the second year that we do it).
Along this optative credit we gonna post here all the activities that we will make, and we will explain to you what we do and how we do it.
